Gregg Schindler-State Farm Honors Carlee Kromolicki as one of the December spotlight students
Written by Guest Student
For the month of December, Carlee Kromolicki (’26) has been selected as one of the spotlight students of the month. Kromolicki is a cross-country athlete and captain on her team. She trains with her team and on her own time, always looking for ways to improve.
Starting to run cross-country in her freshman year, she made her way to the top as one of the best runners on the team, even winning player of the year (2023). She’s won the conference twice and won multiple top tens every year. This isn’t her first sport, though; she has been playing soccer for most of her life and is currently a captain for her soccer team, too. Kromolicki shares how she first got into cross country,
“I thought it would be fun and wanted to try something new,” Kromlicki said.
This is a great example of how stepping outside of your comfort zone can lead to great things.
Kromolicki discusses how it hasn’t been an easy road through her cross-country journey,
“I wasn’t getting better, and it was getting really hard for me to improve, and it was like a whole year of that. But I got more training and better training,” Kromlicki said.
This personal experience connects to the advice Kromolicki gave to people just starting cross-country,
“Keep trying and never give up,” Kromolicki said.
Kromolicki’s cross-country coach, Mr. Parmenter, shares how she is at practice,
“Carlee always shows up, she is very competitive, leads the stretches, if there is a workout that isn’t helping the team as much, she will give the team a better workout, and is a good team player”, Mr. Parmenter said.
Congratulations to Carlee Kromolicki on being recognized as one of Gregg Schindler-State Farm spotlight students for the month of December.
